Underfloor heating repair in Nottingham
We repair wet and electric underfloor heating across Nottingham, tracing cold rooms, noisy or seized pumps, failed actuators, faulty thermostats and leaks. Diagnostic visits start from £120+VAT, and you receive a written repair price before any work begins.
Common faults we fix
Most underfloor heating faults sit at the manifold or in the controls rather than under the floor:
- One zone cold — usually a stuck actuator, closed flow meter or airlocked loop
- Whole floor cold — pump failure, blending valve fault or no call from the wiring centre
- Floor too hot or uneven — poor balancing or a failed mixing valve
- Pressure dropping — a leak at manifold fittings or, rarely, in a buried pipe
- Electric floor dead — failed thermostat, tripped RCD or damaged heating cable
How we diagnose
We read flow and return temperatures at the manifold, check each actuator and thermostat signal, and use thermal imaging to see how heat spreads across the floor. For electric systems we test insulation resistance and continuity of the heating element.
Leaks in screed are located with thermal imaging and pressure testing so the floor is opened only where needed.
Frequently asked questions
Why is one room cold when the others are warm?
The usual causes are a failed zone actuator, a thermostat not calling for heat, air in that loop or a closed flow meter. These are normally repaired in one visit.
Can you repair a leak without lifting the whole floor?
Usually. Thermal imaging and pressure testing pinpoint the leak so only a small section of screed or flooring is opened.
How much does a diagnostic visit cost?
Diagnostic visits start from £120+VAT. Parts and further labour are quoted in writing once the fault is found.
