Underfloor heating installation in Nottingham

We design and install wet and electric underfloor heating for Nottingham extensions, renovations and new builds. Every installation starts with a survey and room-by-room heat-loss check (from £120+VAT), followed by a fixed written quote.

Choosing the right system

Wet (water-based) underfloor heating suits extensions, ground floors and whole-house projects, particularly with a heat pump or condensing boiler. Electric systems suit single rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and conservatories where running pipework to a manifold is impractical.

For existing floors we use low-profile overlay boards that add roughly 15–25 mm; for new slabs we lay pipe in screed for the best heat output.

What the installation includes

A typical wet installation in Nottingham covers:

Floor finishes

Tile and stone transfer heat best. Engineered wood, laminate, LVT and carpet work well when the combined tog value and maximum surface temperature are kept within the manufacturer's limits — we check this at survey.

Frequently asked questions

How long does underfloor heating installation take?

A single room overlay system usually takes one to two days. Screeded systems need drying time before floor finishes go down, which the builder or screeder will advise.

Can underfloor heating run from my existing boiler?

Usually yes. The manifold's blending valve lowers the flow temperature from the boiler to suit the floor. We check boiler output and controls at survey.

Is underfloor heating suitable for a heat pump?

Yes. Underfloor heating runs at low flow temperatures, which suits heat pumps well, provided the loop spacing and floor build-up are designed for it.

Do I need planning permission?

No. Underfloor heating is internal work and does not need planning permission, although electrical work must meet Part P.
